Studio Brief 2 - Illumination

These are my final illustrations for the editorial brief. I'm relatively happy with how they've turned out, although the method I used for creating them wasn't the most efficient.

To create these, I drew the illustrations out twice the size they were meant to be to make it easier for myself to add detail. I then shrunk them down to the correct size on the photocopier. For the background colours, I cut up coloured paper and stuck the shapes over each other, and then photocopied the line drawing over the top. However, this method proved to be quite difficult since registering the images was a lot harder than I thought it would be, especially figuring out which way to put the paper in when photocopying something multiple times.

If I were to do these illustrations again, I think I would add more tone to the pieces to create a bit more depth because at the moment the images are quite flat and could definitely stand out more. I would also use an easier method of creating them instead of using the photocopier because this took up a lot of time - possibly just on photoshop.
